Midsummer in the Midwest
I’ve stopped keeping track of how many times I travel between St. Louis and Lincoln. It’s gotten as crazy as twice a week. What can I say? I have time on my hands and people I love in both places. :) Had an awesome time in St. Louis hanging out with the Lou-ians of course. Emily and I did some much needed (or not) shopping and laughed til we cried. Two nights in a row. Over nothing. ;) Kelly, William, and I made a photo album and William cried. ;) Had lunch with my wonderful friend Chelsea and caught up with some other people I hadn’t seen for awhile. Drove from St. Louis to Omaha and joined Brad and Haggs for a Relient K concert last weekend. Good times! Lincoln has been nice and relaxing this week. Had a La-C day yesterday and hung out with Laura all day. Sometimes we do that :). Saw Transformers 2 and hung out by the pool. Started reading a book that my friend who is becoming a Catholic missionary gave me.. partially to satisfy personal interest and partly to equip myself for conversations to come with Kyle. Spent the 4th in Seward (the 4th of July CITY!) with Miss Katy and Brad. BBQ’d at an old prof’s house and had a nice time catching up. It rained… not real rain but Nebraska rain… that drizzle/mist crap that we westerners don’t understand. :) Had a great time hanging out with my roommates, made a new friend (or not so much) named Blue… invited some new people to hang out with us and had a grand time. Headed to Kansas to visit Paul and Andrea on Wednesday until her birthday on Saturday. Excited for that. :) I realized that I reached my summer midpoint in the last week and was saddened but am also excited for the things to come. Good times ahead, good times behind… and I regress as my posts turn back into factual updates as opposed to thoughtful entries. :) Give me a month and I’ll get back to it. My brain will have to start working again… if anything, for the kids ;).
